Heineken Rugby Clubhouse[Holler]

The Heineken Rugby Clubhouse App was at the centre of Heineken's Australian sponsorship of Rugby World Cup 2011. Using push notifications, the app allowed users to be part of the on-field action, kicking real penalty goals and conversions, live, as they happened in all the Rugby World Cup games. The user took the same kick, from the same spot, in the same weather conditions as the real players. Users chose their team and entered into national as well as facebook leaderboards against their friends. The app also covered all the latest tournament info as well as the locations of official Heineken sponsored Clubhouse venues across Australia where fans could get together and play as they watched. As well as the above stats, the app reached a ranking of 2nd in the Top Free Sports Applications and averaged a user rating of 4.5/5.

New Holler Website[Holler]

Design for Holler's new HTML5 Website. We really wanted to push the boundaries with this site whilst maintaining the classic usability of all the best agency folio websites. Using HTML5 we could introduce some quirky transition and jump-to effects, attracting potential new employers without scaring off less digi-savvy clients. Key was to get across Holler's cutting-edge, ambitious yet cheeky and playful personality.

ESPN.COM.AU[Holler]

Pitch winner for Holler. ESPN wanted to focus their attention on subscriber figures and scheduling whilst still maintaining the energy and vibrancy of neighbouring sports news aggregator sites. The key was to maximize the slick premium nature of the brand whilst creating a highly usable site that allowed user to tailor their experience easily based on their sports preferences.

Petaluma.com.au[Holler, Sydney]

This was one of a host of Magento e-commerce sites I designed for Holler's food and drink (Lion Nathan) clients. I really enjoyed the challenge of producing something engaging and striking within the boundaries of the Magento templates and functionality.

Beaverbrooks [Pitch][McCann Manchester]

Retail jewellers Beaverbrooks were looking for a total overhaul for their online presence. I started by applying a sleeker, more classy brand direction and incorporated some massive usability improvements through a no-clutter product grid, live search, inspiration panel and a comprehensive expandable menu.

London 2012 Olympics [McCann Manchester]

2 days to come up with an engaging and fun way to tell the story of the London 2012 volunteers. The idea was to give applicants as much info as possible about the reality of being a volunteer - sorting the wheat from the chaff. LOCOG were determined to uphold their equal opportunities stance regarding volunteering for the games so I had to ensure the design was accessible to those with motor, audio and visual disabilities. I went for a popup book mechanic - pullable tabs and hotspots reveal the important content.

JJB Sports [Komodo Media]

In line with their new modernized brand direction, JJB wanted to inject a little personality, life and structure to the front-end of their retail site whilst maintaining the same back-end functionality. The final product was a lot cleaner, more inspirational and user-friendly. I also designed in some personalization including the ability for the user to choose from a series of sports themed wallpapers.

A little experiment - would love to work with some big video game clients in the future - this is an idea I had for an interactive character 'pulp' where you could play with and interact with the characters and scenery to reveal more information about the game/console

London 2012 Olympics[McCann Manchester]

A once in a lifetime opportunity to work on such an historic project! Phase one, concept a game to promote and create awareness around the reality of being a volunteer for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Users choose what comforts to take with them for their time away in the big smoke. Based on their decisions feedback is given on their suitability to volunteer and present options accordingly. Mad timeline on this one!

Femibion[McCann Manchester]

Brief: Make a pregnancy countdown widget that was engaging, fun, scalable and valuable beyond the eventual loss of novelty. I designed the widget to be as user-friendly as possible but also added some fullscreen pop-ups to house the brand's inspirational messages. Loved creating the soft, bubbly, styling and adding cheeky incidentals here and there.

Adidas - Project X [McCann Manchester]

adidas' 'Project X' was designed and built to work as a means to inspire 11-17 year olds into sport prior to the 2012 Olympics by allowing users to set the community sports-related challenges. The site had to be fully customizable via theme and avatar selection. The avatars I came up with had to be simple enough to mass-produce on different themes but funky enough to appeal to the target age group - in this case the 11-14 year old bracket.

Chill Factor-e [McCann Manchester]

Being a keen boarder, I loved working on this piece of creative for my local snowdome - Chill Factor-e of Manchester. Chill Factor-e have loads of 'Rail Jam' events where all the best local tricksters come together to 'out-gnarl' each-other on makeshift slopes. The idea was to create an energetic, vibrant and inspirational site where 'Rail Jams' can be promoted and entrants registered.

The Drum - McCann Recruitment [McCann Manchester]

Above are 2 of a series of eye full-spread McCann recruitment ads for industry mag, The Drum. The ads needed to stand out amongst scores of similar ads in the same issue so I decided pretty early on that photos with mega-impact and short catchy slogans would be the way to go.

Flystar 55 - Graphic Art Clothing[Personal]

A while back a few creatives and me decided to start a brand of graphic design led clothing. The idea was to create a community where graphic designers could upload their work and promote their art, selling them as t-shirts, hats and hoodies. Not quite up and running yet - watch this space!

Bauer Millett[Komodo Media]

Quite literally jumped at the chance to design a site for these mean machines! Bauer Millet are UK based car import specialists, dealing in Cadillacs, Chevrolets, Hummers, Alfa Romeos and Corvettes to name but a few. The brief was to create a sleek, engaging and luxurious front-end to work with their existing back-end. Pure joy to work on.
